The latest update to Azure API Management includes the following bug fixes, changes and new features:
**End-to-end tracing with [Azure Application Insights](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/monitor/)**. We added support for [HTTP Correlation Protocol](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/application-insights/application-insights-correlation) to our integration with Application Insights to make it possible to trace a request all the way from client to back-end.
**More powerful expressions**. [System.Net.WebUtility](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.net.webutility?view=netframework-4.7.2) type containing useful methods for HTML and URL encoding, and decoding is now added to the list of .NET Framework types [available](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-policy-expressions#CLRTypes) from policy expressions.
**Faster configuration deployments**. We optimised the deployment from Git implementation. It runs three to five times faster now.
**More flexible JWT validation**. You can now use expressions for the separator attribute of a claim element of the [validate-](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-access-restriction-policies#ValidateJWT)[jwt](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-access-restriction-policies#ValidateJWT) policy.
**More reliable console tracing**. We fixed a bug that prevented us from generating traces for requests hitting policy scopes that contain the [set-variable](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-advanced-policies#set-variable) policy used to store [IResponse](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/api-management-policy-expressions#ContextVariables) objects.
We started the update on 24 October 2018\. Service instances are being upgraded in batches, and it usually takes a week or more for every active service instance to be updated.
