Amazon SES is now a HIPAA Eligible Service. HIPAA eligibility applies to all AWS Regions where Amazon SES is available.
If you have a HIPAA Business Associate Addendum (BAA) in place with AWS, you can now start using Amazon SES for your HIPAA eligible workloads.
If you don't have a BAA in place with AWS, or if you have any other questions about running HIPAA-regulated workloads on AWS, please [contact us](https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/contact/). For information and best practices about configuring AWS HIPAA Eligible Services to store, process, and transmit PHI, see the [Architecting for HIPAA Security and Compliance on Amazon Web Services Whitepaper](https://d0.awsstatic.com/whitepapers/compliance/AWS%5FHIPAA%5FCompliance%5FWhitepaper.pdf).
Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a cloud-based email sending service designed to help digital marketers and application developers send marketing, notification, and transactional emails. To learn more about Amazon SES, visit <https://aws.amazon.com/ses>.
