Support for IMDSv2 AWS Elastic Beanstalk now supports IMDSv2, an on-instance component to securely access instance metadata. IMDSv2 comes with many enhancements, including support for session-oriented requests. Learn more about the IMDSV2 enhancements in this [blog post](https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/security/defense-in-depth-open-firewalls-reverse-proxies-ssrf-vulnerabilities-ec2-instance-metadata-service/). For an overview, see the [Release Notes](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/relnotes/release-2020-06-10-imdsv2.html). To learn about configuring the instance metadata service in your Elastic Beanstalk environments, see [IMDS](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/dg/environments-cfg-ec2-imds.html) in the AWS Elastic Beanstalk Developer Guide. Service-Linked Role for Managed Updates You can now use the Elastic Beanstalk Managed Updates Service-Linked role to add the permissions required to use the Managed Updates feature in your Elastic Beanstalk environment through a role managed by the Elastic Beanstalk service. This ensures that your environment will always have the right permissions to perform Managed Updates. For an overview, see the [Release Notes](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/relnotes/release-2020-06-10-managed-updates-slr.html). To learn more about adding the Managed Updates Service-Linked role to your Elastic Beanstalk environment, see [Service roles](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/elasticbeanstalk/latest/dg/iam-servicerole.html) in the AWS Elastic Beanstalk Developer Guide.
