[EC2 Image Builder](/image-builder/) now allows customers to stream logs to AWS CloudWatch, which can help examine and troubleshoot issues with building, customizing, securing, patching, testing, and distribution of Amazon Machine Images (AMIs). It also allows customers to maintain continuous visibility into the activity of Image Builder pipelines.
CloudWatch Logs provide a durable archive destination and allows customers can specify a retention period. Additionally, customers can perform ad hoc searches across multiple logs, which is particularly useful for audits and log analysis.
CloudWatch logging support is enabled by default in EC2 Image Builder and is available in all regions where EC2 Image Builder is available. More details can be found in our [documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/imagebuilder/latest/userguide/how-image-builder-works.html#image-builder-logs).
