Amazon MQ now supports mq.t3.micro, the next generation of micro instance, priced at [8% to 13%](/amazon-mq/pricing/) less than the previous generation mq.t2.micro.
[Amazon MQ](/amazon-mq/) is a managed message broker service for Apache ActiveMQ that makes it easy to set up and operate message brokers in the cloud. The new mq.t3.micro broker type is ideal for customers getting started with Amazon MQ or looking to test applications in a development environment. The mq.t3.micro is included in AWS Free tier that enables new accounts to use a single instance mq.t3.micro for up to 750 hours per month for one year. See the AWS Free Tier for details.
The mq.t3.micro broker type is available in all regions where [Amazon MQ is available](/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/). You can get started with Amazon MQ using the [AWS Management Console](https://console.aws.amazon.com/amazon-mq/home), AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), or an AWS SDK, and launch a new mq.t3.micro broker in minutes.
For more information, see [Broker Instance Types](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amazon-mq/latest/developer-guide/broker.html#broker-instance-types) in the Amazon MQ Developer Guide.
