AWS OpsWorks for Configuration Management (CM), a configuration management service that provides managed instances of Chef Automate and Puppet Enterprise, now has updated their AWS CloudFormation support for OpsWorks resources, including supporting all AWS CLI and SDK operations, as well as opening up the implementation to allow for community feedback and contributions.
With this feature release, you can continue to configure your desired OpsWorks CM environment in a reusable CloudFormation template, while leveraging the latest OpsWorks CM features. The new support enables OpsWorks CM customers to better leverage recent CloudFormation features like drift detection.
As it is now the common practice for Registry resources, AWS OpsWorks for Configuration Management's CloudFormation support code is publicly available on [GitHub](https://github.com/aws-cloudformation/aws-cloudformation-resource-providers-opsworkscm). This feature enables the community to provide feedback and contribute enhancements.
To find the supported OpsWorks resources on using this feature with CloudFormation templates, please see the [CloudFormation Resource Types Reference](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/aws-template-resource-type-ref.html).
