We are extending the retirement announcement of 1.x Azure Cosmos DB .NET SDK and the .NET Core SDK for SQL API from 31 August 2020 to 31 August 2022. **How does this affect me?** After 31 August 2022, Azure Cosmos DB _will no longer make bug fixes, add new features and provide support to_ versions 1.x of the Azure Cosmos DB .NET or .NET Core SDK for SQL API. If you _prefer not to upgrade_, requests sent from version 1.x of the SDK will continue to be served by the Azure Cosmos DB service. **What actions should I take?** * **Option 1:** Update to version 2.x of the Azure Cosmos DB [.NET SDK ](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/sql-api-sdk-dotnet)or the [.NET Core SDK](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/cosmos-db/sql-api-sdk-dotnet-core), which requires minimal code change * **Option 2**: Update to version 3.x of the Azure Cosmos DB [.NET SDK](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/cosmos-db/sql-api-sdk-dotnet-standard), which targets .NET Standard. If you have a support plan and require technical support, please [contact us](https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft%5FAzure%5FSupport/HelpAndSupportBlade/overview). * Azure Cosmos DB * Retirements * [ Azure Cosmos DB](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/products/cosmos-db/)
