AWS Elemental MediaPackage expands Monitoring and Deployment Automation capabilities

[AWS Elemental MediaPackage](/mediapackage/) now offers you the ability to publish both live ingress and egress logs as CloudWatch Logs. This feature allows you to easily build custom monitoring dashboards with [CloudWatch Logs Insights](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudWatch/latest/logs/AnalyzingLogData.html) or third-party data processing and monitoring tools. Analyzing these logs and correlating them with encoders or content distribution network (CDN) logs can help identify problems such as slow ingest uploads on the encoder side or cache hit ratio drops on the CDN side. For instructions on how to configure access logging, please refer to the [documentation page](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediapackage/latest/ug/access-logging.html) and corresponding [API documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediapackage/latest/apireference/channels-id-configure%5Flogs.html).
You can now also use [AWS CloudFormation](/cloudformation/) templates to create and configure AWS Elemental MediaPackage live channels, VOD packaging groups, and packaging configurations. This improvement lets you use AWS CloudFormation to deploy MediaPackage resources in a secure, efficient, and repeatable way. When associating MediaPackage resources to MediaLive and/or MediaConvert resources in the same CloudFormation template, you can automate the deployment and configuration of complex end-to-end media workflows. For more information on this new capability, please refer to the [AWS CloudFormation guide](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/Welcome.html) and its new [MediaPackage section](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/AWS%5FMediaPackage.html).
MediaPackage functions independently or as part of [AWS Elemental Media Services](/media-services/), a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based video workflows and offer the capabilities you need to transport, create, package, monetize, and deliver video.
Visit the [AWS region table](/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/) for a full list of AWS Regions where AWS Elemental MediaPackage is available.
