AWS Elemental Link adds features and service regions

Today we introduced several new features for [AWS Elemental Link](/medialive/features/link/) along with expanded region availability. Link devices can now ingest video into all regions where AWS Elemental MediaLive is supported.
You can now transfer device control and video ingest from Link to another AWS account. If you have multiple AWS accounts or work with third parties that have their own accounts, this added flexibility makes it easy to transfer device control to the account where it is needed to feed video into MediaLive.
For use cases that require redundancy, two Link devices can now feed a MediaLive standard channel, improving the resiliency of your workflow over single-pipeline channels. For more information on input pricing for Link, visit the [MediaLive pricing page](/medialive/pricing/).
You can also use a single Link device to be used as an input for multiple channels in MediaLive. For example, one channel can make a long term archive of a source, and a second channel can stream that source to viewers during a key event.
Link now sends up to 8 embedded audio channels to MediaLive. If you live stream with multi-language programming or have surround-sound audio, Link can support that workflow.
You can now also assign a friendly name for each Link device, for example “Camera 1” or “Houston Backup”. This simplifies the management of large numbers of Link devices.
[AWS Elemental Link](/medialive/features/link/) is a device that connects a live video source, like a camera or other video production equipment, to [AWS Media Services](/media-services/), or video encoding in the cloud. MediaLive is part of [AWS Media Services](/media-services/), a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities needed to transport, create, package, store, monetize, and deliver video. Visit the [AWS region table](/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/) for a full list of AWS Regions where AWS Elemental MediaLive is available.
