[Amazon Elastic Container Service](/ecs/) (ECS) now supports the ability to add the recently launched P4d instances on Amazon ECS clusters in all regions where P4d instances are available. P4d instances offer up to 60% lower cost to train compared to previous generation instances with 2.5X more deep learning performance using the latest NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs. These instances also offer 8 TB of local NVMe storage. P4d instances are currently available in the US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions. To learn more about P4d instances, please visit the [P4d product page](/ec2/instance-types/p4/) and [news blog](https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-gpu-equipped-ec2-p4-instances-for-machine-learning-hpc/).
Customers can launch and add P4d instances to their Amazon ECS clusters with the latest version of the Amazon ECS GPU-optimized Amazon Machine Image (AMI) using the AWS CLI. To learn more about using GPU instances in your Amazon ECS clusters, please visit the Amazon ECS [documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonECS/latest/developerguide/ecs-gpu.html).
