Amazon SNS now supports 1-minute CloudWatch metrics

Services

[Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS)](/sns/) now publishes metrics at 1-minute resolution to [Amazon CloudWatch](/cloudwatch/), providing granular monitoring for Amazon SNS standard and FIFO topics. Previously, Amazon SNS published metrics to Amazon CloudWatch in 5-minute resolution. Amazon SNS is a fully managed publish/subscribe (pub/sub) messaging service for both application-to-application (A2A) and application-to-person (A2P) communications. Amazon CloudWatch is a monitoring and observability service that provides you with data and actionable insights to monitor your applications, respond to system-wide performance changes, optimize resource utilization, and get a unified view of operational health. Amazon SNS and Amazon CloudWatch are integrated so you can collect, view, and analyze metrics for every active Amazon SNS topic. For example, using Amazon CloudWatch you can view a graph showing the number of messages published to a given topic. Once you have configured Amazon CloudWatch for Amazon SNS, you can gain better insight into the performance of your Amazon SNS topics. There is no action needed on your part to begin taking advantage of Amazon CloudWatch metrics with 1-minute resolution. This feature is automatically available for all existing and new Amazon SNS topics at no additional cost in all AWS regions.
