Today, AWS announces Incident Manager, a new capability of AWS Systems Manager that enables faster resolution of critical application availability and performance issues. Incident Manager helps you prepare for incidents with automated response plans that bring the right people and information together. The Incident Manager console provides a unified user interface to view operational data from multiple AWS services and track incident updates, such as alarm status changes and response plan progress. Incident Manager helps you improve service reliability by suggesting post-incident action items, such as automating a runbook step or adding a new alarm.
With Incident Manager, you can automatically take action when a critical issue is detected by an Amazon CloudWatch alarm or Amazon Eventbridge event. Incident Manager executes pre-configured response plans to engage responders via SMS and phone calls, enable chat commands and notifications using AWS Chatbot, and execute AWS Systems Manager Automation runbooks. The Incident Manager console integrates with AWS Systems Manager OpsCenter to help you track incidents and post-incident action items from a central place that also synchronizes with popular third-party incident management tools such as [Jira Service Desk](/about-aws/whats-new/2020/10/customers-can-now-use-jira-service-desk-to-track-operational-items-related-to-aws-resources/) and [ServiceNow](/about-aws/whats-new/2021/04/customers-can-now-use-servicenow-to-track-operational-items-related-to-aws-resources/). Incident Manager enables cross-account sharing of incidents using AWS Resource Access Manager and provides cross-region replication of incidents to achieve higher availability.
Incident Manager is available in the following AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (Stockholm).
