Services

Because Java 7 community support ends on 29 July 2022, applications hosted on App Service will continue to run, but they will not receive updates or security patches. **Required action** To minimize risk and potential security vulnerabilities, upgrade your Web Apps to Java 11 or 8 depending on your workload requirements. To start, log in to [Azure portal](https://portal.azure.com/#home), navigate to the web app(s) go to **Configuration** \> **Settings > Stack Settings.** You will see dropdowns for the Java major and minor versions, as well as the Tomcat version (if you are using Tomcat). You can also view other resources before you upgrade your Web Apps to Java 11 or 8. * [Reasons to move to Java 11](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/developer/java/fundamentals/reasons-to-move-to-java-11) * [Java 7 migration guide ](https://aka.ms/java-7-migrate-guide) **Help and support** If you have questions, get answers from community experts in [Microsoft Q&A](https://aka.ms/qna-azure-web-apps-java7) .
