Today AWS announces a new structure for the 2022 Season of the award-winning AWS DeepRacer League. The AWS DeepRacer League is the world’s first global autonomous racing league, including an autonomous 1/18th scale race car driven by reinforcement learning and a 3D racing simulator where developers can get hands-on experience with Machine Learning (ML). 2022 introduces more opportunities to race LIVE for everyone via the return of physical racing on the Summit Circuit and a new LIVE head-to-head format in the Virtual Circuit, plus a new student-only division dubbed the AWS DeepRacer Student League.
Starting March 1st, The DeepRacer League Summit Circuit will offer attendees at 2022 AWS Summits around the globe a chance to race an AWS DeepRacer car on a physical track. Winners at each AWS Summit will qualify for regional playoffs to secure one of fifteen opportunities to win a trip to advance to the Championship Cup at re:Invent 2022 in Las Vegas. Additionally, the Virtual Circuit adds even more challenges to make racing fun, with finalists now racing head-to-head LIVE during monthly finales livestreamed on twitch.tv/aws. Finally, students will compete with peers on a level playing field in the AWS DeepRacer Student League. Each racer will receive 10 hours of model training and 5 GB of storage per month to train time-trial models.
