Amazon MQ now provides support for RabbitMQ version 3.9.13\. This update to RabbitMQ contains several fixes and enhancements compared to the previously supported version, RabbitMQ 3.8.26.
Amazon MQ is a managed message broker service for [Apache ActiveMQ](http://activemq.apache.org/components/classic/) and [RabbitMQ](https://www.rabbitmq.com/) that makes it easier to set up and operate message brokers on AWS. Amazon MQ reduces your operational responsibilities by managing the provisioning, setup, and maintenance of message brokers for you. Because Amazon MQ connects to your current applications with industry-standard APIs and protocols, you can more easily migrate to AWS without having to rewrite code.
We encourage you to consider upgrading to RabbitMQ 3.9.13 with just a few clicks in the [AWS Management Console](https://console.aws.amazon.com/amazon-mq/home). Because this is the first release Amazon MQ supports in the version 3.9 series, your broker will not be automatically upgraded if you have enabled automatic minor version upgrade. To learn more about upgrading, please see: [Managing Amazon MQ for RabbitMQ engine versions](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amazon-mq/latest/developer-guide/rabbitmq-version-management.html) in the _Amazon MQ Developer Guide_.
To learn more, read the [RabbitMQ Changelog](https://www.rabbitmq.com/changelog.html).
