Amazon ElastiCache now supports Memcached 1.6.17

[Amazon ElastiCache for Memcached](/elasticache/memcached/) has added support for Memcached version 1.6.17\. This version is a cumulative update and contains all changes and improvements from version 1.6.12 to 1.6.17\.

You can create an Amazon ElastiCache cluster with Memcached 1.6.17 using the [AWS Management Console](https://console.aws.amazon.com/elasticache), AWS CLI or the [AWS SDK](http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonElastiCache/latest/APIReference).
Memcached version 1.6.17 is now available in all [AWS regions](/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/).
To get started, create a new Memcached cluster with just a few clicks using the [AWS Management Console for ElastiCache](https://console.aws.amazon.com/elasticache/), the AWS CLI, or one of the SDKs.
