Amazon Chime SDK now supports Amazon Lex chatbots

Today we are launching the Amazon Chime SDK integration with Amazon Lex for chatbots, enabling builders to develop persistent conversational chat interfaces using a simplified architecture. The Amazon Chime SDK lets developers add real-time audio, video, screen-sharing, and chat capabilities to their web or mobile applications. Amazon Lex provides automatic speech recognition and natural language understanding technologies so you can build conversational interfaces. This new integration allows builders to create AI-powered chat tools that understand natural language. With these chat tools, users can ask for help without speaking to a human, like refilling a prescription or transferring funds in a bank account. Users can also ask for information, like requesting an update on a food order or tracking details. Through the Amazon Chime SDK, builders can also add automated redaction of PII, sentiment analysis, persistence or escalation of a bot conversation to a human. Additionally, builders can now add automatic expiration of resources including users and channels to make it easier to create bot conversations that are saved only if needed. Amazon Chime SDK integration with Amazon Lex is available in US East (N. Virginia) and EU Central (Frankfurt) AWS regions. To learn more about this capability, please refer to [Amazon Chime SDK documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/chime-sdk/latest/dg/appinstance-bots.html).
