Today, AWS announces the general availability of AWS Elemental MediaConnect Gateway, a new cloud-connected software application that transmits live video between your on-premises multicast network and AWS Elemental MediaConnect. You can easily build end-to-end live video contribution and distribution workflows in AWS at scale.
MediaConnect Gateway is deployed on hardware you supply using Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) Anywhere. Getting started with MediaConnect Gateway takes just a few minutes. Once the installation is complete, management of MediaConnect Gateway is done with the AWS Management Console, MediaConnect API, or AWS CDK. You create an ingress bridge to move a feed from on-premises to a MediaConnect flow in the cloud or an egress bridge to move content from a cloud flow back to an on-premises network. You can use MediaConnect Gateway in conjunction with all other features of MediaConnect, allowing you to build out live video contribution and distribution workflows.
To learn more about MediaConnect Gateway, please read this [blog post announcement](https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/media/connect-your-on-premises-multicast-video-network-to-the-cloud-with-aws-elemental-mediaconnect-gateway/). MediaConnect Gateway is available in all [AWS Regions](https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/) where MediaConnect is available. MediaConnect Gateway is provided free of charge - you only pay for your MediaConnect and ECS Anywhere usage. For additional information on MediaConnect, please visit the [MediaConnect overview page](https://aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/) and read the [MediaConnect documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/mediaconnect/latest/ug/what-is.html).
