Developers can now use updated video background blur and replacement with improved quality in Amazon Chime SDK client library for JavaScript. The [Amazon Chime SDK](https://aws.amazon.com/chime/chime-sdk/) lets developers add real-time audio, video, and screen share to their web applications. Video background blur and replacement obscure users’ surroundings to help increase visual privacy.
The updated background blur and replacement incorporates visual improvements such as a new image segmentation model that can help distinguish more clearly between a meeting participant and their background.
The updated background blur and replacement is available in the Amazon Chime SDK client library for JavaScript, and works with meetings in all [AWS Regions](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/chime-sdk/latest/dg/sdk-available-regions.html#sdk-meeting-regions) where Amazon Chime SDK meetings are available.
