Services

Today, Amazon AppStream 2.0 introduces a new applications manager feature to help you package and mobilize your Windows applications between different environments without affecting the underlying base image or operating system. To achieve this, you can launch an app block builder instance, install your application(s) and create a self-contained and sharable application image. You can share these application images across multiple AppStream 2.0 elastic fleets provisioned across different AWS regions. The application image created using AppStream 2.0 applications manager can be attached to a running instance by creating an [AppStream 2.0 App block](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/appstream2/latest/developerguide/app-blocks.html). Next time you have an updated application version and you want your end-users to access the latest version, you can simply create a new app block with your new application image and replace your existing app block with the new one. Now you can serve the new application version to your end users without the need of managing multiple operating system images. Applications manager functionality is available for AppStream 2.0 Elastic fleets, in all the AWS regions where AppStream 2.0 is available. App block builder Instances are charged on one second increments, with a minimum of 15 minutes. These instances are charged the applicable running instance fee, based on the instance type and size, even when no administrators are connected. For further details please refer to [AppStream 2.0 pricing](https://aws.amazon.com/appstream2/pricing/).
