AWS Elemental MediaTailor now supports cue ad tags in Channel Assembly

You can now configure ad breaks in AWS Elemental MediaTailor Channel Assembly using cue ad tags in addition to date range when using HLS outputs. When using cue ad tags, Channel Assembly will create the necessary EXT-X-CUE-IN/OUT/CONT markers in the specific HLS outputs. Additionally, you can now also configure asset metadata key/value pairs to be included in the EXT-X-ASSET tag to signal additional content characteristics on a per break basis.
Cue ad tags enable you to work with a wider variety of video ad tech and Free Ad Supported TV (FAST) platforms and Server Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) providers.
Using Channel Assembly with MediaTailor, you can create linear channels that are delivered over-the-top (OTT) in a cost-efficient way, even for channels with low viewership. You can create virtual linear streams with a low running cost by using existing multi-bitrate encoded and packaged live or VOD content. You can also monetize Channel Assembly linear streams by inserting ad breaks without having to condition the content with SCTE-35 markers.
