Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) now supports up to 55,000 read IOPS and 25,000 write IOPS, making it easier to power Machine Learning (ML) research, financial simulations, big data analytics, and other data-intensive workloads on AWS.
Amazon EFS provides serverless, fully elastic file storage that makes it simple to set up and run file workloads in the cloud. Amazon EFS now supports up to 55,000 read IOPS per file system, a 1.6x increase, and up to 25,000 write IOPS per file system, a 3.6x increase. With these enhancements, you can easily run more IOPS-demanding workloads on EFS, such as Machine Learning (ML) research with KubeFlow, financial simulations with IBM Symphony, and big data processing with Domino Data Lab, Hadoop, and Spark.
The increased IOPS limits are immediately available for all Amazon EFS General Purpose file systems using the Elastic Throughput mode or Provisioned Throughput mode, in all AWS regions where EFS is supported.
