Today, [AWS IoT ExpressLink](https://aws.amazon.com/iot-expresslink/), a connectivity software that powers a range of hardware modules developed and offered by AWS Partners, announces the release of Technical Specification v1.2\. The updated specification provides hardware manufacturers, who design and develop Internet of Things (IoT) devices, a new command set to allow host software applications communicate wirelessly using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. Using the BLE command groups offered in the new specification, AWS IoT ExpressLink makes it easy for host processors to take control of the local Personal Area Network (PAN) and communicate with other IoT and mobile devices over Bluetooth. The new specification has been adopted by AWS Partners, such as [u-blox](https://devices.amazonaws.com/search?kw=u-blox&page=1&sv=iotxplnk) and [Espressif](https://devices.amazonaws.com/detail/a3G0h00000E2JnNEAV/ESP32-C3-AWS-IoT-ExpressLink-Module) towards their Wi-Fi and BLE qualified modules that developers readily use to build connected products. For additional details on the BLE API, refer to [the programmer's guides](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/iot-expresslink/latest/programmersguide/elpg.html) and browse the [AWS Partner Device Catalog](https://devices.amazonaws.com/search?page=1&sv=iotxplnk) for qualified BLE-enabled modules from AWS Partners.
