AWS Resilience Hub adds assessment support for AWS Step Functions resources when assessing your application resilience. Resilience Hub provides a single place to define, validate, and track the resilience of your applications so that you can avoid unnecessary downtime caused by software, infrastructure, or operational disruptions. [AWS Step Functions](https://aws.amazon.com/step-functions/) is a visual workflow service that helps developers use AWS services to build distributed applications, automate processes, orchestrate microservices, and create data and machine learning (ML) pipelines.
Resilience Hub can now assess applications using AWS Step Functions by analyzing the configuration, the analysis includes the state machine type using either standard or express workflows. Resilience Hub will also provide recommendations to help customers meet their estimated workload Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). To assess applications including Step Functions resources, permissions must be set up to allow Resilience Hub to read the configuration.
The new capabilities are available in all of the AWS Regions where Resilience Hub is supported. See the [AWS Regional Services List](https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/) for the most up-to-date availability information.
To learn more about Resilience Hub, visit the [product page](https://aws.amazon.com/resilience-hub/) or start using Resilience Hub on the AWS [console](https://console.aws.amazon.com/resiliencehub/home).
