Today, Amazon Pinpoint launched registration capabilities for developers who build SaaS applications. This helps developers include the phone number request and registration processes into their own applications. SaaS application customers want their own phone numbers to send and receive SMS messages from. They view SMS phone numbers as an extension of their brand and strive for a consistent end-user experience where they send and receive messages from the same phone numbers and sender IDs each time.
Mobile carriers and governments worldwide have implemented SMS phone number registration schemes to help reduce unwanted or spam SMS messages. The dynamic regulatory landscape can sometimes make obtaining SMS phone numbers and sender IDs a lengthy and confusing process for developers. This problem is amplified for SaaS application developers whose systems or processes must complete registrations for each of their customers. With Amazon Pinpoint SMS’ new phone number registration capability, a developer can create, view, and update phone number registrations so they can streamline their user experiences.
Today, Amazon Pinpoint SMS phone number and sender ID registrations are available for US 10DLC numbers, US Toll-free numbers, and Singapore sender IDs. The Pinpoint SMS registration capabilities are now available in 29 AWS regions.
