AWS IoT SiteWise now supports Asset model components to help industrial customers create reusable components to derive new asset models and express variations easily.
AWS IoT SiteWise asset models allow standardization of industrial equipment by allowing industrial customers to create commonly used equipment components or sub-components, such as motors. For example, a wind turbine is made of many smaller components such as blades, rotors, and generators. With this new feature, each of these components can be uniquely expressed and reused by creating Asset model component. This capability provides flexibility and efficiency in expressing variations of complex asset models to onboard assets and hierarchies faster, cutting project timelines down and accelerating time to value.
This feature is available in all regions where AWS IoT Sitewise is available. CloudFormation support will be coming soon.
[AWS IoT SiteWise](https://aws.amazon.com/iot-sitewise/) is a managed service that makes it easy to collect, store, organize and monitor data from industrial equipment at scale to help you make data-driven decisions.
