Customers that use Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) can now host their applications in Jakarta region, and send text messages (SMS) to consumers in more than 200 countries and territories. Using Amazon SNS, customers can [send a message directly to one phone number](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sns/latest/dg/sms%5Fpublish-to-phone.html), or [multiple phone numbers](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/sns/latest/dg/sms%5Fpublish-to-topic.html) at once by subscribing those phone numbers to a topic and sending messages to the topic.
With this expansion, Amazon SNS now supports the ability to send SMS from 23 regions including US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Milan), Europe (Paris), Europe (Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), Israel (Tel Aviv), Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Jakarta), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Osaka), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), AWS GovCloud (US-East), and AWS GovCloud (US-West).
