Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose now delivers decompressed CloudWatch Logs to S3 and Splunk destinations.
Amazon CloudWatch Logs enable customers to aggregate log events from their systems, applications, and services for monitoring purposes. Customers use Amazon CloudWatch Logs subscriptions to deliver log events using Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose to Amazon S3 and Splunk for troubleshooting and monitoring use cases. CloudWatch Logs are delivered as gzip-compressed objects and with the support of decompression for Cloudwatch Logs in Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, customers can now automatically deliver decompressed logs. This eliminates the need for additional services or post-processing to do decompression and allows customers to use optional Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose features such as Data Format Conversion or Dynamic Partitioning.
Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose is the easiest way to load streaming data. To get started with Kinesis Data Firehose, visit the [console](https://console.aws.amazon.com/firehose/home) and the [developer guide](http://docs.aws.amazon.com/firehose/latest/dev/basic-create.html).
