AWS announces higher read IOPS for Amazon Elastic File System

Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) now delivers 40% higher read IOPS per file system, making it easier to power data-intensive file workloads on AWS.
Amazon EFS provides serverless, fully elastic file storage that makes it simple to set up and run file workloads in the cloud. Before today, Amazon EFS supported up to 250,000 read IOPS for frequently-accessed data and metadata, and up to 65,000 read IOPS for remaining data and metadata. With this launch, Amazon EFS now supports up to 90,000 read IOPS (a 40% improvement on the existing 65,000 limit), meaning that customers can use Amazon EFS to power an even broader range of IOPS-intensive, read-heavy workloads such as machine learning research, content delivery, and big data processing.
These higher IOPS limits are immediately available for Amazon EFS file systems using Elastic Throughput, in all commercial AWS Regions and the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions. To learn more, see the [Amazon EFS Documentation](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/efs/latest/ug/performance.html).
