Today, [Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS)](https://aws.amazon.com/ecs/) launched integrated service discovery in Canada West (Calgary) AWS Region.
Amazon ECS Service Discovery makes it easier for your containerized services to discover and connect with each other. With Service Discovery, Amazon ECS creates and manages a registry of service names using [AWS Cloud Map](https://aws.amazon.com/cloud-map/) so you can refer to a service by name in your code and use DNS to resolve the service name to the service’s endpoint at runtime. ECS Service Discovery is available for all networking modes for EC2 or [AWS Fargate](https://aws.amazon.com/fargate/) launch types.
