[SFTP connectors](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/transfer/latest/userguide/creating-connectors.html) will now publish file transfer event notifications in [Amazon EventBridge](https://aws.amazon.com/eventbridge/). With this enhancement, you can orchestrate your file transfer and file-processing workflows in AWS using Amazon EventBridge, or any workflow orchestration service of your choice that integrates with these events.
SFTP connectors provide fully managed functionality to copy files between remote SFTP servers and [Amazon S3](https://aws.amazon.com/s3/). Amazon EventBridge is a serverless event bus that makes it easy to build event-driven applications by routing events between AWS services, third-parties and customer’s own applications. With SFTP connectors events in Amazon EventBridge, you can easily respond to successful or failed file transfer operations, invoke downstream processing of your transferred files, and integrate files with your applications and data lakes. For example, when files are retrieved from remote SFTP servers, you can use the event to initiate an extract, transform and load (ETL) job using AWS Glue or customized file-processing using AWS Step Functions. Similarly, when files are sent to remote SFTP servers, you can receive automated notifications for errors using Amazon SNS. In addition to SFTP connectors, all AWS Transfer Family resources including server endpoints for SFTP, AS2, FTPS and FTP publish event notifications, enabling you to build event-driven Managed File Transfer (MFT) architectures in AWS.
AWS Transfer Family support for publishing events in Amazon EventBridge is available in all [AWS Regions](https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/global-infrastructure/regional-product-services/) where AWS Transfer Family is available.
