A new SQL Server migration in Azure Arc solution streamlines and accelerates your journey to Azure SQL Managed Instance. Powered by Azure Database Migration Service and assisted by Copilot, it delivers an automated, end-to-end migration process that includes continuous assessments, simplified provisioning, and real-time replication.
The capabilities in SQL Server migration in Azure Arc include:
* Continuous assessment reporting that automatically delivers readiness, cost, and technical insights.
* Streamlined provisioning. You can select or provision Azure SQL targets directly within the portal, eliminating context switching.
* Real-time data replication via distributed availability groups (DAGs). Instead of a complex, multiple-step setup, you get a simplified replication process without the need to navigate separate portals.
* Read-only replica validation. You can test target instances before cutover, avoiding rework.
* Client connection summaries that continuously identify which clients connect to each SQL instance, replacing manual tracing.
* Copilot assistance and troubleshooting that guides you through the migration steps, reducing manual effort and delays.
