Agentless Connection Troubleshoot (public preview) introduces a faster, simpler, and fully agentless way to diagnose network connectivity issues across Azure resources. Previously, running connectivity checks required installing the Network Watcher Extension on virtual machines, adding setup overhead and potential deployment delays. With this release, customers can now perform end-to-end connectivity tests without deploying any agents or extensions, reducing friction and improving reliability.
With Agentless Connection Troubleshoot, users can instantly validate reachability, latency, and packet loss between Azure resources directly from the Azure portal, CLI, or API, with no dependency on VM configuration. This enables faster diagnostics while maintaining the same level of accuracy and depth as extension-based checks.
This enhancement simplifies network troubleshooting by removing manual setup steps and potential extension failures, ensuring consistent results across environments. It also strengthens security posture by reducing in-guest dependencies and operational overhead.
By making Connection Troubleshoot completely agentless, Azure empowers users to detect, triage, and resolve connectivity issues faster while improving operational efficiency and scalability. Customers can now run comprehensive connectivity tests instantly, enabling frictionless, reliable, and secure network diagnostics across their Azure workloads.
