[Azure Data Box](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databox/data-box-overview?pivots=dbx-ng) now automatically generates a downloadable Secure Erasure Certificate for every completed order, providing verification that all data on the device has been securely erased in accordance with [NIST 800-88 Revision 2](https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/SpecialPublications/NIST.SP.800-88r2.pdf) standards.
The certificate is created as part of the standard cleanup process and is accessible directly from the Azure portal. This enhancement reduces audit complexity and eliminates the need for manual validation, while increasing transparency and simplifying compliance for organizations handling sensitive data, such as: government, law enforcement, and financial services.
