As organizations integrate external AI providers into production applications, platform teams need consistent ways to secure, govern, and observe model interactions across providers. Without centralized controls and telemetry, managing compliance, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring usage becomes increasingly difficult.
With this update, Azure API Management extends AI gateway capabilities to Anthropic and Google Vertex AI models, enabling organizations to apply runtime policies, security controls, and observability across external model endpoints.
This allows teams to:
* Apply runtime governance and security policies, such as content safety, token limits, or semantic caching, for Anthropic and Vertex AI models
* Collect logs, traces, and metrics for Anthropic and Vertex AI model traffic
By extending policy enforcement and observability to Anthropic and Vertex AI models, Azure API Management helps organizations operate multi-model AI environments with stronger consistency, security, and enterprise control.
