Retirement: Azure App Service on Azure Stack Hub

Azure App Service on Azure Stack Hub will be retired on September 30, 2029\. Starting September 30, 2026, new installations will no longer be supported, and no new product releases, features, or enhancements will be made available. Existing supported deployments can continue to run and upgrade to the latest available release until retirement. Customers should begin planning migration to Azure App Service in Azure now to continue receiving support, security updates, platform improvements, and new capabilities. On September 30th, 2029, App Service on Azure Stack will reach retirement and Microsoft support will end. **Recommended action** Assessand migrate applications as soon as possible. Azure App Service in Azure provides a fully managed platform with global availability, Windows and Linux hosting options, autoscale, deployment slots, advanced networking and security, Azure services integration, and continuous innovation. For applications with complex Windows dependencies, evaluate Managed Instance on Azure App Service. It can help accelerate migration for applications requiring registry access, COM components, custom runtimes, or other Windows-specific dependencies. For a successful transition, inventory applications and dependencies, assess compatibility, select the appropriate Azure hosting target, migrate code, configuration, and data, validate workloads, and complete migration before September 30, 2029\.
