## Feature
Feature
You can now provision GKE nodes from storage-optimized [Z4M machine series](https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/storage-optimized-machines#z4m%5Fseries):
* Manually: starting from GKE version 1.36.3-gke.1767000 and later.
* Using compute classes, cluster autoscaler, node pool auto-creation and in Autopilot clusters: starting from GKE version 1.37.0-gke.4713000 and later.
Z4M machine series are suited for large parallel file systems to support AI/ML workloads and for I/O intensive workloads such as databases. GKE does not support Z4M bare metal instances at this time. See[Machine support with GKE](https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/concepts/machine-support#machine-support).
