Azure Automation enables the creation, deployment, and maintenance of resources for cloud and on-premises environments by using a highly scalable and reliable workflow service. We’ve announced a set of new preview features to make integration, automation, and orchestration even easier, including:
* **Built-in integration** with on-premises systems and [Windows PowerShell Desired State Configuration](https://blogs.technet.com/b/privatecloud/archive/2013/08/30/introducing-powershell-desired-state-configuration-dsc.aspx) nodes. Automation is accessible via the new REST APIs from services (including GitHub and Visual Studio Online) by using webhooks, or with [Azure Resource Manager](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/resource-group-authoring-templates/) templates.
* **Runbook Management** for managing runbooks, jobs, and assets more easily from the [Microsoft Azure portal](https://portal.azure.com/), including a new graphical workflow-authoring tool to enable faster runbook design.
For more information, please visit the [Automation](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/automation/) page. There is no additional charge for this feature.
