The Azure Data Lake engineering team has been working hard on refining the services, and a few recent updates provide basic improvements across the board. You can find detailed descriptions of all the updates in the following release notes:
* [U-SQL](https://github.com/Azure/AzureDataLake/blob/master/docs/Release%5FNotes/2016/2016%5F04%5F11/USQL%5FRelease%5FNotes%5F2016%5F04%5F11.md)
* [Azure Data Lake Tools for Visual Studio](https://github.com/Azure/AzureDataLake/blob/master/docs/Release%5FNotes/2016/2016%5F04%5F11/ADLTools4VS%5FRelease%5FNotes%5F2016%5F04%5F11.md)
* [Azure portal](https://github.com/Azure/AzureDataLake/blob/master/docs/Release%5FNotes/2016/2016%5F04%5F11/Portal%5FRelease%5FNotes%5F2016%5F04%5F21.md)
Among all those updates, there are a few things the team would like to draw your attention to:
* There's better compatibility with other tools when a U-SQL script sends output to Azure Storage blobs.
* The Azure SDK includes Azure Data Lake Tools for Visual Studio. This makes it easier than ever to get the tools you need from a single location.
* Both Azure Data Lake Store and Azure Data Lake Analytics support writing diagnostic logs. This is very useful if you need to perform auditing of how the services are being used.
