Virtual network integration enables you to prevent unauthorised access to your Azure Data Lake Storage Gen1 account by locking down access to only permit allowed subnets within your virtual network. It enables the same use case as virtual network service endpoints. With Data Lake Storage Gen2 coming soon, this feature helps enable uniform network security for customers with existing Data Lake Storage Gen1 accounts.
Virtual network integration for Data Lake Storage Gen1 makes use of service endpoints between customer virtual networks and the Azure Active Directory service to enable locking down Data Lake Storage Gen1 account access from the specified virtual network.
The feature is available in preview in all Data Lake Storage Gen1 regions.
For more information, see the [Virtual network integration for Azure Data Lake Storage documentation](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-lake-store/data-lake-store-network-security).
