**What is Azure Automanage?**
Azure Automanage helps you significantly reduce day-to-day management tasks with automated operations across the entire lifecycle of Windows Server virtual machines in Azure. IT Admins can manage their VMs with point-and-click simplicity, individually or at scale.
**What new capabilities are we announcing?**
**Azure Automanage for Windows Server**
Azure Automanage for Windows Server helps you enable rebootless security patching for new Windows Server VMs. These new enhancements enable the deployment of security patches in seconds, helping protect servers against critical threats.
**Expansion of Azure Automanage to Linux**
For customers who want to Automanage for other workloads, we are expanding Azure Automanage to Linux. With this preview, Azure Automanage will support CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, and SLES with more Linux distributions planned in the future.
**How does Azure Automanage work?**
Azure Automanage is a service that eliminates the need to discover, know how to onboard, and how to configure certain [best practice Azure services](https://aka.ms/vm-best-practices) that help enhance reliability, security, and management for virtual machines. If the VM's configuration drifts from the applied best practices, Azure Automanage will detect and automatically bring the VM back to the desired configuration.
