Azure Resource Manager (ARM), our next-generation cloud infrastructure stack, is fully replacing the “classic” Azure Service Management (ASM) model (classic deployment model). As a result, classic deployment model REST APIs for Service Bus, Relay and Event Hubs are officially being retired on 1 November 2021\. The retirement was announced on a [Microsoft Tech Community announcement](https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Service-Bus-blog/Deprecating-Service-Management-support-for-Azure-Service-Bus/ba-p/370909). Since then, we have worked directly with our customers to complete the migration of these calls to ARM. This retirement affects the management API. Runtime operations, such as sending or receiving messages, are not affected.
**Required action**
Review the [migration guide](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/service-bus-messaging/deprecate-service-bus-management) and transition to ARM before 1 November 2021\. In most cases, migration will require a small amount of code changes on your part.
**Visual Studio tooling**
The Notification Hubs tooling in Visual Studio 2019 will be updated to use the ARM APIs to enumerate your Notification Hubs. You will need to update to Visual Studio 2019 version16.11.5 or higher. Versions prior to this will display an error.
**Help and support**
* For more information about the retirement of this API, please check our [migration guide](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/service-bus-messaging/deprecate-service-bus-management).
