Azure Virtual Network Manager IP Address Management (IPAM) – Pool Association Recommendation is now generally available, bringing intelligent, large-scale automation to IP address management in Azure.
As organizations expand their network footprint across regions and management groups, identifying and associating virtual networks with the right IPAM pools can become increasingly complex. Unassociated virtual networks may consume overlapping address spaces, raising the risk of conflicts during provisioning.
With Pool Association Recommendation, customers can now automatically identify all virtual networks within their Network Manager scope that are not yet associated with an IPAM pool. The feature intelligently recommends the most suitable pool for each virtual network by applying longest-prefix matching within the pool hierarchy, ensuring optimal fit and capacity alignment.
Administrators can bulk select and associate virtual networks in a single action directly from the Azure portal—streamlining operations, reducing manual effort, and ensuring full coverage at scale.
This general availability release empowers customers to manage address spaces more efficiently, minimize configuration drift, and maintain consistent governance across large, distributed Azure environments.
