Managed Instance on Azure App Service is now generally available.
Managed Instance helps organizations migrate web applications to Azure App Service with minimal configuration and no code changes. Applications running on-premises or in virtual machines can move to a fully managed PaaS environment while maintaining compatibility with Windows-specific dependencies.
Many business-critical .NET applications rely on Windows services, third-party libraries, custom runtimes, and other components that can make modernization challenging. Managed Instance enables these applications to run on Azure App Service while preserving compatibility and reducing operational overhead.
Key benefits include:
* Built-in App Service capabilities such as autoscale, resiliency, zone redundancy, and Azure service integration.
* Administrative control through Azure Bastion-enabled RDP access, custom scripts, registry adapters, storage mounts, and identity management.
* Support for complex workloads, including classic .NET Framework applications, without code changes.
* Enterprise-ready capabilities, including a 99.95% SLA, Premium v4 performance, Azure Policy integration, Microsoft Defender for Cloud support, and deployment through Bicep, Terraform, and ARM templates.
Get started by assessing eligible workloads with Azure Migrate and deploying through the Azure portal, Azure CLI, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
